Last year marked the inaugural Level Up Teaching Summit, where we garnered over 2,000 registrations for the one-day event, with a staggering 1,000+ teacherpreneurs joining the event live from over 7 different countries!
We understand that online teaching can be isolating at times. We recognise that managing your teaching business entails juggling numerous components and can feel overwhelming. We know the power of community and networking. And that’s precisely why the Level Up Teaching Summit was conceived: to cultivate a community of like-minded teacherpreneurs and share insights from industry experts to help you LEVEL UP as a freelance tutor in the ESL industry.
The feedback we received from attendees last year was so overwhelmingly positive that Tim and I absolutely had to organise another Level Up Summit for 2023!
Meet Your Summit Hosts
Tim, famously known as the Online Teacher Dude:
Tim, also known as the “Online Teacher Dude” on YouTube, has played an instrumental role in the journeys of thousands of teachers who want to learn how to teach online.
Tim started his career as an elementary teacher in Canada before venturing abroad to instruct in international schools in China and Malaysia. This adventure launched him into the realm of teaching online with various companies and establishing his own online brand to support other teachers to do the same.
Currently, Tim lives in Bangkok, Thailand, where he manages his online teaching enterprise that develops content and courses tailored for online educators.
Crystal Weber, founder & MD of Crystal Clear ESL
Crystal doesn’t need much introduction around here! If you’re a member of the Crystal Clear community, you’ve probably already met the powerhouse behind the Crystal Clear ESL brand.
As an experienced secondary English teacher and linguist, Canadian Crystal Weber segued into the online ESL industry in its early days, first as a contracted teacher, then as a freelancing teacherpreneur, and most recently as founder and MD of Crystal Clear ESL.
She now supports thousands of ESL freelancers in launching and building their own online businesses with the provision of dynamic, interactive teaching materials through her esteemed curriculum membership service. All this in conjunction with running a busy UK household of three children, Isla, Avery, and Logan, and two dogs, Charlie and Luna, together with her German husband. This year, we’ve decided to do things a little differently and host the summit over two action-packed mornings. We’ve tailored the first day for aspiring freelance teacherpreneurs who aim to transition from working for a company to establishing their own ESL empire. If you’ve ever contemplated taking that leap, we’re here to give you that extra nudge out of the nest and assist you in shifting from being a contractor at a school to becoming the boss of your very own ESL academy!
Our second day is tailored specially for more experienced freelancers looking to take their ESL biz to the next level. Rachel started teaching English when she moved to China in 2010, where she taught students ranging from 4 to 60 years old in a variety of settings, including language schools, universities, and as a private tutor. After living and teaching in China for more than five years, she moved to Bali, where she started teaching English online. Rachel has a host of qualifications under her belt, including a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies with a Minor in Business and multiple BridgeTEFL certifications. She now assisted in developing the curriculum for the Succeeding as an English Teacherpreneur course and became an online tutor with Bridge in 2023.
